Without a doubt, this piece conveys the darkest story I've ever written (or even conceived), to the point where I destroyed the sheet music, which had an unsung, stomach-churning dialogue that conveyed the story.
The story is about a schizophrenic five-year-old girl who, in the throes of her psychosis, begs her mother to assist her with committing suicide by hanging. The most disturbing note was a single word at the end of the sheet music: "Thud.".
